We are excited to announce preparations for our upcoming County Convention, an important event where we will make influential
decisions for our party's future. Our County Convention will be on
Monday, April 15, in lieu of our regularly scheduled membership meeting.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Election of State Committee Members

We will elect 7 State Committee Members to represent Washington County for the 2024-2026 term. Please note that these positions will commence after the November General Election. Current members seeking re-election must complete the standard application and election process.

 

Election of State Convention Delegates

We will also elect 51 Delegates for the State Convention. These delegates will play a pivotal role in voting for Arkansas's representation at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Delegates must be available to attend the State Convention on June 8, 2024, in Central Arkansas.

 

How to Apply:

• If you are interested in running to be a delegate & attend the State Convention, please complete FORM A.

• If you wish to serve on the state committee, complete this FORM. 

• If you want to pursue both, you will need to fill out both forms as they are kept for records accordingly.

• Both forms are due by noon on April 3.

• Both forms will require a brief bio & headshot prior to the Convention.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Potential State Convention Delegates will be ineligible if they vote in the Republican Primary in 2024 (DPA Rules). 

• All applicants for DNC delegate positions, including those interested in representing Arkansas at the DNC, must apply between April 3rd and May 10th. (DNC application not available yet)

• The DNC will be held in Chicago August 19 - 22.

• Although we are working on cost reduction options for travel, delegates and candidates will bear responsibility for the majority of their own expenses for participation in the state and national conventions. They are free to campaign and fundraise as necessary.

• Membership to the Washington County Democrats is open until the convention begins, with no waiting period for voting eligibility.
